Replaced my '01 tranny with an '04. Still need an eternal cooler?

Replaced my '01 tranny with an '04. Still need an eternal cooler?
Went through three transmissions...one failed at 25k, had it rebuilt and it failed at 75k, got a junkyard one that failed about 15,000 later. Said screw it and threw in an '04 and have gotten 125,000 out of it so far, no issues. Should I still install a tranny cooler?
