Ok... so i just did the ex cluster swap and was driving around testing the tach out... and all of a sudden my clutch went right to the floor and i lost all push in the car!!!
I couldn't change gears the damn shifter wouldn't move into any gear at all... i pulled the clutch pedal up with my foot and pressed it down again thinking that maybe it was the pedal.... but nothing!
I coasted to a stop... luckily in a parking lot... and popped the hood. Didn't see anything unusual at all... looked under the car... oh hell... there's a strange fluid! So i looked around under the hood again... some kind of fluid was on part of the passenger side.. under the fuse box, cai, and near the battery. Hmmm.... so i had my friend start the car and press the clutch in....
"hiss" went the car! Didn't see where she was 'hissing' from so i had him do it again.... oh crap... i saw her 'hiss' and spit this time!!! Came from under the cai.... lifted it up... and this hose had rubbed against some metal part where the oem intake sat.
I have know clue what this hose is exactly... or what the fluid is cause it looks odd and doesn't smell like anything, doesn't taste like anything either... ok i didn't taste it. But i traced it back to in front of the engine and it looks like it is from the tranny. After more inspecting... i noticed that it connects to metal tube hosing on both ends and the connections look complicated.
I don't know if i can try and seal this up and drive to honda tomorrow and see about a replacement or what... i know they'll charge an arm and a leg to replace it...

I have some pressure until the clutch goes all the way down.... well it's more like a small pressure/resistance when you push on it... but it won't come back up.
I don't think the slave cylinder tore off... i already said it see a hose leaking. But maybe something else caused that leak.. who knows. Gonna go out right now and check it out again. And take a pic of this hose. Cause i don't have a clue as to what it really is... oddly enough it isn't shown in my Haynes Repair Manual either... or i couldn't just find it.
The fuild comes out kinda brown/redish... but at first it has a light tan color foam to it... this is when it makes the short quick spray when the clutch is pressed in. I'm sure i still have some tranny fuild... but not enough to keep testing this out to try and figure what the problem is..... i'm gonna do an update in about an hour or so and let you guys know what the deal is.

the manaul tranny isnt going to have any lines that carry fluid off of it. When I say that, I mean as in transmission fluid. yes you do have lines however that carry brake fluid (clutch fluid though). so you can rule out tranny fluid as to what the fluid is. the manaul fluid just sits in the tranny. it doesnt go anywhere like a auto tranny.
I say jack up the car and start tracing all the hydraulic lines for the clutch. also check the back of the slave cylinder as you press the clutch in. this is a common place for a slave cylinder to leak.
But you still havent answered as to wether you still have full fluid in the clutch master cylinder?

Its a clutch hose... and i'm screwed until Honda can get one either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Now once i bleed the line after i replace it... i should be fine right?
Can this have messed up my transmission at all?
I'm not sure the what or where the master clutch cylinder is... i suppose i would check it by just looking at the container for the clutch fuild right?

if you look under the hood, you will see 2 resovoirs on the drivers side firewall. One big one more toward the passenger side and a smaller one right next to the drivers side. that small one is the clutch master cylinder. the larger one is the master cylinder for the brakes. the smaller one it holds the hydraulic fluid (brake fluid) for the hydraulic clutch.
now if the line is leaking, yes once you replace and bleed the system you should be fine. And no it wouldnt have messed up the tranny.

Thanks... yeah that's the reservoir i was talking about. Yeah that one was bone dry. I'm glad you weren't talking about something else. Is there a DIY for bleeding the system... cause the book example really sucks... crappy steps and no pics at all. All this trouble was caused by me not zipping down the hose in a good spot.... learn my my bad choice everyone... fixing this will not be fun.

bleeding the clutch system is just like bleeding the brakes, just you only have to bleed it from one spot, at the slave cylinder. just have someone push in the clutch pedal, then loosen the bleeder for a split second to have the fluid/air escape and retighten it, then repeat this several times untill the air is bled out.

Thanks... i did it this morning.. but it i kept getting air bubbles after alot of time. So i think i don't have a good seal on the tube.... the clutch pedal doesn't come back up on it's own... and no pressure is needed to press it to the floor. Just gonna wait until next week until the hose comes in from Honda and go at it again.
About what is the average time to bleed the clutch system? Cause i was at it for awhile today... and i kept getting air still... and it kept taking the brake fluid.
Thanks for all the help streetglower... throwing a rep your way.

well if you still have a line that is leaking, then you will introduce air into the system through that leaking line. air will be sucked into the system. usually you press the clutch pedal to the floor, open the bleeder for a second, then close it, then release the clutch pedal and keep repeating. and wait untill no more air comes out. I will try and find some of the other people who had a hard time bleeding the clutch but eventually got it. I have never done it, I know the procedure is the same as brakes, but takes longer from what other people say.

I'm driving nothing at the moment... hitching rides for right now... until this hose comes in
But i'm blacking the headlights & putting an RS grille on right now anywayz... so can't drive either... so it works out.
I used a special hose sealing tape and a clamp on the hole... but it might not be working... i'll just have to wait... Honda told me it should be in latest Wednesday. Probably better to wait then to keep trying to bleed this line over and over.
Thanks for all the help

finally fixed
Well i replaced the clutch line... lemme tell you this was a pain in the rear end! And very hard to get to where the line connects. After i finally got it in... stripped the one fastener alittle.... i started to bleed the line....
And this takes a very long time... i called Honda after about an hour of bleeding it to make sure i was doing it right... and they weren't much help. So i went at it again... and the clutch is fine now.
But i got some pressure and a small squeek coming from my brakes when i release it... and alot of pressure when i press the brake.... not sure what it is... i didn't touch the brakes at all. But it did sit for over a week because of the clutch... so maybe that's it.
If anyone has similar problems i can try to help...
your gonna need a size 10, 9/16... and i think it was a 12mm wrenches when you do this. The clutch line connections were very tight at first. I have a 01 so i'm sure it's just cause they were never messed with. The worst problem i had was the keeping the hose on the bleeder valve.
