Civic Overheating Problem!

My son has a 2002 honda civic ex model 1.7 he was having an issue with overheating and we saw fluid there the waterpump is. He is a YOUNG diesel mechanic but he does a good job. We recently replaced the water pump, timing belt, thermostat and cam shaft sensor. Oil is clean and no visible leaks on the radiator yet hes still sometimes having issues running hot. I feel we buy too much coolant. I mentioned blown head and he swears since there is no white exhaust smoke, no cloudiness to his oil that the head isn't blown. Someone please help it's 106 out in texas and he already doesn't have A/C

It's the headgasket, theres a test where you apply compressed air to the cylinders and it will push air into the coolant

video is on the first post. It is pass or fail test, worth more doing the test than arguing about

Re: Civic Overheating Problem!

White exhaust smoke would be the engine consuming coolant. Milky oil would be coolant and oil mixing. The common head gasket failure is neither of those. It's combustion gases getting into the coolant, pushing it into the reservoir. This means there's less in the cooling system, causing an overheat.
