02 EX Coupe Intermitent Overheating

Evening,
I have an 02 EX civic, the cars needle goes up, goes back to the middle, a few mins later, goes back up, goes back down to the middle. I replaced the thermostat in May, but not the sensor next to it, recently one of my hoses went, so i replaced it. The car has 103,400 miles on it. The car is for sale, but i cant sell it with this problem. Please any help....thanks

Dan

Burp the cooling system, or test the gauge/temp switch.

yea u might have air in your coolant system, which is wat might b causing the random overheating. check your radiator if its topped off(if it isnt pour in coolant till its to the top) and squeeze the 2 big hoses leading off the rad to the engine(but not at the same time). if u see bubbles surface continue squeezing then turn on your car, crank the a/c to the max and continue the process until u no longer see any more bubbles surface.
