Oil Seepage, source? [solved]

Hi all, I had the battery tray out while I was replacing the radiator fan and got a view of some oil seepage on top of the transmission under the air box. Looks like it's been happening for a while. Can this be from the egr gasket and /or the camshaft oil seal? Sorry no pic. I also noticed that the valve cover gasket is not dry, although not big leaks. Perhaps I should replace the pcv valve, then take care of the gaskets. Does a gummed up pcv valve cause cc pressure and oil leaks on this engine?
If I were to group jobs together, what would you suggest doing at the same time?
Kind of a wonky post, but trying to get ahead of the potential problems while learning what is good for this engine.

re: Oil Seepage, source? [solved]

Best bet is to clean the crap out of the oil that's on there with some degreaser (simple green and 409 are my go-tos), run it for a while, then reinspect to see where it could potentially be coming from. I know, easier said than done in a D17 engine bay.

I had a small tear in my valve cover gasket once. Not completely torn, but like 1/4-1/2 of the gasket, and it caused a hell of an oil leak. Left a nice little trail in the UNLV parking garage. If the valve cover gasket isn't dry, I'd start to suspect that. They're cheap and easy enough to replace, too.

re: Oil Seepage, source? [solved]

update:
I removed the resonator box and did some cleaning of the top of transmission, vtec solenoid area, egr, and valve cover gasket. before cleaning I noticed that the fresh looking oil is coming from under the "water passage?"(the part of the head that thermostat is bolted to). I'll get my scope working and look under there. I did not see any fresh oil from the upper areas. I'll drive it and update.

Update: solved
Found the leak. It was coming from the bottom of the vtec solenoid gasket making it not visible from above. There is a very good vtec solenoid fix YT video if posting a link is allowed on the forum?
Hope my pics look ok.
