Engine Idle Rough
Engine Idle Rough
OK, so need some help here folks.
My son's 2005 Honda Civic LX has been having some rough engine idle and shaking. I thought it was the transmission, and it's not. The transmission was fixed two weeks ago, the engine and transmission mounts were replaced by me, and the front CV axle was replaced as well. I just got the car back from the transmission shop and they said the car was shaking (yeah, no crap). They said the transmission was fine. If the engine mounts are good, the transmission mount is good, and the transmission is not the culprit, what could cause the engine to have a rough idle?
It was throwing a code for the evaporator cannister, but that would not cause the car to shake, right? The lady at the transmission shop tried to tell me that she would start by replacing the spark plugs and coils because the mechanic said he saw water in the intake plenum (I did just wash the engine bay). I'm like, yeah, the water would have evaporated. Plus, the spark plugs were just replaced and would not be the reason why the car is vibrating rough at idle.
Thoughts?
I'm going to have the car checked out by a Honda dealer next week, so just trying to be prepared for what they might say.

Re: Engine Idle Rough
Shouldn't have water in the intake.
Aftermarket mounts are stiffer.
might clear up once everything is dry.
Check the plugs, see if any got damaged.
iac might be dirty
