Dual drivetrain swap

So, I have an 02 coupe that I have had for years. Recently (2019) I swapped in a jdm d17 and transmission. Replaced AC, alt, ps pump struts, ball joints tie rods, hubs, basically everything in the dt. Then I hit a dear 3 weeks later.

i pulled it into garage and left it to deal with later. Fast forward to today, my 16yo is driving and needs a car. I have bought an 03 with body in great shape with a blown engine (don’t know or care what is wrong with it, was $750).

Now, I am an Audi guy more than Honda. With my Audi, I can drop the entire drivetrain with the tires and front axel and tires all still on, roll it out from under the car and work on it.

My question is, with this civic, can the entire drivetrain be dropped as an assembly? I know the book method is out the bottom, but all guides send you out the top.

my hope is to put them on lifts side by side, undo everything, swap them and then mount it back.

thanks in advance for all this community does!

Re: Dual drivetrain swap

You can. Basically unbolt the strut tops, upper mounts, subframe bolts, and some other bits and it would drop out.
