eu8 d16v1 valve clearance specs?

Can anyone tell me the exact specs I have to set the valve clearances to? I have found more than one number for it.

As per the Haynes Manual:

Intake = 0.18mm - 0.22mm (0.007in to 0.009in)

Exhaust = 0.23mm to 0.27mm (0.009 to 0.011in)

Should be noted that you should adjust valve clearance when the engine is cold (<100F/37.78C if I recall correctly), and thus those specs.

So I guesa I should target the .2 mm for intake and the .25 for exhaust?
Thank you very much

I’d aim for the smaller number. If the smaller number fits snugly and the bigger number doesn’t go in at all, you’re in good shape.

So, 0.018 for intake and 0.023 for exhaust.

I have read somewhere that this in this kind of engine they get tighter over time. (I think you wrote an extra 0)

I did. The original numbers I posted apply.

If I were to recommend something else, get yourself a set of go-no-go feeler gauges. They make it so much easier.
