Crank seal?? Video

I just picked up 2003 Honda Civic EX with M/T. I was finishing up some other maintenance. And upon further inspection I found this. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1J23UY2R-CzUk91QjlJUzBNTDA/edit?usp=docslist_api

What do I need to correct this issue?

Timing cover seal squished out? (Didn't look like an oil pan gasket?)

Seal swollen and squishy from long term oil leaks, or maybe careless installation of the timing cover? Looks like oil has been leaking anyway....

Is the timing cover deformed, doesn't stay tight against the engine?
Bolts missing?

I guess figure out where the oil leaks start, and plan on fixing that...Plus more.

Take it apart to do a timing belt job, plan on replacing the valve cover gasket set, cam seal and front crank seal along with the rest of the stuff that is normally done with a timing belt job. Timing belt, accessory belt set, water pump, t-belt tensioner pulley, etc.
Worst case might involve resealing the oil pump and oil pan while the timing belt is off.

You might begin with several cans of brake parts cleaner and clean the oil mess off so you can try to find where the leakage begins. Clean it well, then look for fresh leaks after driving it a day or two.

Re: Crank seal?? Video

Thank you ezone. So far I have replaced the valve cover gasket, rear cam seal, egr seal and the spark plugs. I was looking at the power steering to because that looked nice and dirty... Then I found that.. looks like I will do the timing belt and fix this issue next..

This car's air filter was so bad, it was causing the CEL to come on...
