Loud engine hum, changes with RPM
Hi folks,
I'm new here and I can't seem to find this anywhere else, so I'm posting. I recently came into possession of a 2002 Civic LX, 5-speed. It came to me with 137k on it in decent shape (it was stupid cheap and I couldn't pass it up). Problem is, it has some issues. I recently redid the front control arm bushings (both badly cracked) and the front engine mount (which cracked clean through). The engine, however, has gotten extremely loud as a result; anything past 2.5k RPM and it's extremely audible. It's loud enough that I'm scared to push it past 3k most of the time. If it helps, minor (<1 teaspoon/day) oil leak on what appears to be the front cam seal and valve cover. Nothing clicking or tapping or whirring, moreso just that noise you hear when you rev really high. Even though I'm not revving really high. Goes directly with engine RPM, not overall speed.
What other details can I supply to you folks to help make a diagnosis?

Update: the engine is starting to just sound "strained" at any RPM. There's a definite loss of power (what used to get me to 3k RPM now gets me to 2.5k) and a decent bit of high-frequency vibration coming through the pedals. If I don't here anything here, I'm taking it to a mechanic ASAP.
