Infamous radio illumination

Infamous radio illumination
Hello! So I have a 04 civic 5 sp manual, put in a radio with illumination it shorted the circuit, all fuses are in check, all lights work except for illumination. I pulled the cluster off and can't identify an issue, I have since then disconnected the illumination but seems I'm too late, woul this be the cluster or something else that's fried? There's nothing for the manuals sadly

You most likely fried the cluster, check the fuses with a meter in case one of them is blown but most likely you need to replace the cluster

Yah I checked the fuses and sadly all are in tact, is there anyway to override the illumination switch in the cluster or solder the old one out to repair? Worse case I'll probably just make my own illumination but that's a interesting design lol

If you can find the damage you can attempt to repair it.
