04 Civic Instrument cluster

Wife's Civic EX (?) just experienced a complete instrument failure .. briefly. Car drove fine and oddly the gear indicator lights were working.. Just no tach, speedo or fuel or temp gauges never moved off 0.
I tried it as soon as she complained about it and everything was working.
The car had a warantee replacement instrument cluster in 07 due to a bouncy fuel gauge pointer. Although it all worked 'fine' previously and since.

Should I be worried?

Fuses all seemed fine, although I couldn't identify one for the cluster.. is there one ?

PS: car was bought new and has 40k on it currently.

Download the manual: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...e-updated.html It will have a gauge cluster diagnostic you can run. Otherwise it will either be a bad wire/connector/ground or MCU (Multiplex Control Unit).

Re: 04 Civic Instrument cluster

Thank you.. Downloaded the "manual"(s)
Seem OK.. and I'm not complaining , certainly not at the price .
I'd be pissed If I paid though :-)
I'm finding this one a bit Lame Not even close to Real Honda manuals.
I have genuine ones for my 600RR and for my own Acura. Now those ..are.. Very good manuals indeed.
Well worth buying/owning IF one genuinely needs a manual.
I'm now considering it for this car.

Get a new one here- http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage...vlB&usg=AFQjCN or you can find a used one for cheaper on ebay or local craigslist, like this one: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/2436892758.html (that's basically half price)
