04 Civic....Radio Dead....Battery?
04 Civic....Radio Dead....Battery?
Brought the car into Honda to get the ball joint boot(s?) replaced. They had torn. Mentioned the radio, which also just stopped working completely in the past few weeks. Changed the fuse on the battery. Still the radio didn't work. Honda said they tested to see if power was going to the radio. It was....So, they said, the radio is dead.
I noticed yesterday that the car is no longer beeping to warn me that the lights are left on when I exit the vehicle, or that my keys are still in the ignition. This is new. May have started at the same time the radio went. May be the battery? or a different fuse?

Sounds like the MCU (Multiplex Control Unit) is bad. Scan the car for codes (Autozone will do it for free). Then download the manual and diagnose it.
Re: 04 Civic....Radio Dead....Battery?
There is a fuse under the hood that is called "backup" or something of that nature. Check that fuse it is usually the problem. IF not, check all your other fuses one by one with battery disconnected. It is very important to disconnect your battery before removing or popping in fuses...
