Unhappy Transmission noise

Recently, my 2014 Civic LX automatic with 74,403kms (46,500mi) began emitting a "noise" from front part of the vehicle and which increased with speed. The "noise" is like having an all terrain tire on the right front wheel. My mechanic diagnosed a faulty CARRIER BEARING, R/H CV SHAFT but after replacing the bearing, the "noise" remained. The mechanic now tells me the "noise" is coming from the inside of the CV transmission housing and he suspects the differential component. Before I throw myself at the mercy of a dealer does anyone have any experience, comments or suggestions concerning my issue?

Re: Transmission noise

Your mechanic already misdiagnosed once, he may be incorrect again. Just to rule out something simple and cheap rotate the tires front to back, see if anything changes.

Re: Transmission noise

Dear "BrotatoChip".......Thank You for your prompt comment and suggestion. Although not mentioned in my initial post, the "noise" was present before and after I changed set summer (tires & rims) to winter set (tires & rims). Also checked wheel bearing, brake components, etc. The most recent diagnosis was actually a consensus of two mechanics in the same shop using stethoscope to analyze source of "noise" after replacing the CV shaft CARRIER BEARING with no success. Again, many thanks for your input.

Re: Transmission noise

I would take it to another shop and have them diagnose. Don't mention what the other shop said.
