finally getting some new toys for the car
i finally managed to put together enough extra dough to cough out a vibrant type-v strut bar. got it for hella cheap, so if anyone else needs them, lemme know. we'll work something out.
anyhoo.. yah.. don't count me out of the game just yet.. haha.

hey toasty & tsunami... can u guys call me when you're about to install them... i just want to try to see how they fit my ride.... and if they fit.. i might order them too..
i'm interested! I'll wait until Laurence scopes them out in Van though....i only want to shell out $$$ if the quality is decent and the car's handling is actually improved. Sucks being a starving student...

IMHO, a strut bar will actually FEEL more useful w/o lowering springs. since the factory suspension is already so crappy, ANYTHING will make a difference.

any sort of chassis bracing will make a marked improvement on any vehicle, be it a Honda, VW, Nissan, Ford, Chevy or what have you....making your chassis stiffer is much different than adding a set of springs or shocks, when making the chassis stiffer you are in effect stopping the body from flexing in different directions, thus making your car act as a whole in stead of many seperate parts...when adding springs you are effectivly lowering the center of Gravity (CG) and increasing the spring rate (hopefully you are increasing the spring rate, this is not always the case, there are a few manufactures that make a near stock ride quality with a lower CG, these springs are for show only), so with a lower CG you have lowerd the roll center of your car creating less body roll or lean, also with the higher spring rate your car's springs and shocks will compress and rebound with more controll, and with the higher spring rate you are able to push the car harder without the shocks bottoming out or the coils binding against one another....but with the lowered springs comes less shock travel and the bottoming out of the shocks....this is one of the reasons for changing to high quality shocks and struts that are made for a lowered spring....and with higher spring rates you will need a dampener (shock/strut) that can handel and controll the increased compression and rebound pressures.......but anyways I'm babbling now so in short this is why some people lower their cars and others do it cause it looks cool
so anyone intersted is testing out their dirving skills????

alright.. both toastyghosty and i installed our strut bars.. he'll post pics when he gets a moment away from work.
didn't take long to install at all.
btw.. the vibrant type-v bar fits all intakes, EXCEPT the AEM CAI, due to it's extremely high bend.
