This is a forward msg i got from ICQ......... I'm totally agree with this guy..........

<< I think it is just plain horrible what has been happening in Richmond because of the recent rash of street racing incidents that have occurred. Here in this country where by our charter of rights and freedom, we are supposed to be protected from being discriminated against but yet we as car enthusiasts are being picked off one by one for who we are. To top things off, the police happened to be targeting the Asian population. They can deny it all they want but 80% of the V.I.T that are handed out are handed out to Asians because the police keep targeting Asian youths. The police are over abusing their newfound privilege to target people are not even breaking the law. I have lost a dear friend to street racing so believe me when I say I do not condone or think it is appropriate at all but I also do not accept the police abusing their power and finding any reason whatsoever to give out a vehicle inspection or a ticket. They mould the words of the motor vehicle act to suit whatever purpose they want. To begin with, the majority of street racing fatalities have involved STOCK cars with no modifications but all of a sudden, everyone with a supped up car is on every cops hit list. If you are going to target car enthusiasts and their cars why is it that the shops and makers of these so-called illegal? Products are allowed to sell these items and make millions off them. So why don’t the police arrest all the pot smokers in Canada and let the drug dealers and growers go free. If you are going to punish us, why not punish the source of the problem?? I do not appreciate being pulled over when I am doing the speed limit just because of the type of my car and the color of my skin but this is exactly what has been going on in Richmond. I think that the new instant suspension for street racing is a great idea and deterrent but pulling over every car that looks like a racing?car is plain and blatant discrimination. 5 out of 6 of my friends (who were not speeding by the way) that have been given v.i.t have passed. In other words the police are giving innocent people v.i.t and tickets. Who is now going to repay them for their wasted time? Without breaking the law, these innocent people who were picked off just because of their car and/or race have now been robbed of time and respect that can never be given back. If we took this method to arresting drug dealers, this is how it would look like. If you look?like a drug dealer and haven't even broken the law, a cop would arrest you and take you in to “test?if you were a drug dealer and then let you go. Great justice system huh? Well that is what the justice system in Richmond is like at the moment. This bulls*it has got to be put to an end. I fu*king hate all you power abusing pigs out there and hope that karma finds it way to your soul and repays you back10 times harder the pain and suffering you cause others. F*kin no life looser cops. (No I have not been V.I.T but have dealt with this kind of bacon *** cops many times). >>

Rep Power: 0 yea i agree, with everything said. The cops are being very discriminate towards asian people but its also because almost everyone in Richmond with a suped up car is Asian.
But ya i hate freakin cops, me and my friend got pulled over just because he had bright whites on his integra, and for being asian on a friday night.

Rep Power: 0 i say BS.. i am asian. i have NEVER been harrassed by a cop. if anything.. i get them to laugh/smile, whenever they pull me over or question me at a roadblock.

Word up! But the police must know that half of these so called 'Street Racers' drive Honda Civics that are slower than most mini-vans and pick-up trucks. They just have ricey mods and loud exhausts.
I like the comparision to the drug dealer, its just bs.
I still cant believe this. We are harder on our own citizens then we are on the bastards that are really giving us the shaft!! (the Yanks)

i got pulled over some time ago while i was cruising at 80@50 zone, honestly, i didn't even notice.. oops.. but basically all he said was slow down.. and then pulled a u-ey and left. YAY !!!! thanks for leniency(sp)

right now i live in toronto for school
but i am going back to vancouver in summer.. by driving..

he was asked to have an inspection..
i think i will get pulled over many times in vancouver, since my car is loud enough to get attention...
about a week ago, i got pulled over in toronto area for having bc license plate...

she said she pulled over to check whether it is stolen car or not...
i felt fine about that..
anyways, i asked her about the muffler sound, and she said it is ok and i wou't get pulled over for that in toronto area...
she was very kind..
however, in vancouver it will be totally different...
by the way, to pass the inspection, do i have to take off intake and muffler???

Rep Power: 0 If you fail aircare you gotta fix it and then pay another fee to pass or else you won't be able to insure u're car. I think the inspection ticket is the same as aircare, cept the cops MAKE you go do it, rather than u're normal once every 3 year check up.
