Cracked grill...

So if you don't already know, I had a 'situation' with a guy I bought a grill off of. In short, I have a cracked grill. I was planning on getting it painted, but I'm just checking to see if there are any last resorts for the grill. Are there any ways to hide the crack in the plastic? Is there some sort of sealant I could use or something? I'm hoping theres something I can put over or inbetween the crack and then by painting the grill it will not be visible. Is this possible?

I'm not too clear on how big and how bad this crack is but you can
buy one of those fibreglass thingy's where you mix it like putty but it's fibreglass. Then you can attach them together then just shave off the excess f/glass.
Just a thought.

I'll find out for you... I'll let you know by tomorrow or something. Or go to Canadian tire and ask them for any fibreglass repair kit. They might have something for you.

I went to crappy tire today and looked at the fiberglass repair kit. I decided not to get that because, first of all, it's for fiberglass, and second of all, I found something else. It's called "Glazing & Spot Putty". It's meant for plastics, fiberglass, etc etc. Pretty much I am just supposed to sand the area slightly, then fill in the crack with the stuff, then sand away the extra stuff. I'm going to do it tomorrow, and then get my friend to paint it by the end of this week hopefully. I'll tell ya how it turns out.

There are also shops out there that can plastic weld. Works real good but is pretty pricey (about $50 for something small). I think spot putty will be good enough for a small job... just be sure to take your time and not rush it.

yeah i'm going to take my time. $50 is not worth it, I could get a new grill for a little over that. i spent 3.99$ on this putty stuff, so i'll give it a shot.
