WTB: neuspeed front upper strut bar for 03 Civic
apparently only the Neuspeed fits the 7th gen civic, the others don't have the clearance for various stuff under the hood apparently.
it reinforces the front suspension set up so that it stays stiffer, should promote better grip in the front. reportedly, it can cause some oversteer in our cars unless you also mod your rear suspension.

actually, DC made a strut bar for clearance too. ya, if you put one of htose universal on it, you can't put a CAI or SRI... I have one of those universal, so I'm staying put with my air box and just changed to the K&N direct drop in

It's a stabilizer bar, it hooks up to your front two shocks, so when you corner it distributes the force to the other shock as well.
A lot of cars come with them from factory, ie. SiR's GsR's, TypeR's.

re: Popkorn
no, that's a sway bar.
top strut just reinforces the front suspension.... normally it looks something like this:
|__|
so when you corner hard or brake hard, you sometimes get this:
\__/ or \__/
the front suspension towers collapse towards or away from each other.
Adding the top strut simply ties them together, stiffening them and making them stronger, so they always look like this
__
|__|
this makes your other suspension tunings more effective because they're never moved out away from the position they were designed to be most effective. Easiest to visualize would be camber, if your towers are leaning then your amount of camber would be changing as well.
