Question ALARM system

Getting ALARM system installed on my new car will be top priority. The problem is I am not sure if I should ask the dealers to get it done, or should I go somewhere else, AFTER I get the car? Some dealers told me I am looking at around 400 dollars on top of the car price for Alarm.

First of all I am not sure what "pager alarm" is? how much is it?

I am not planning to do much to my new car at all, like I said earlier, the one thing I will do for sure is tint the windows, and the only other thing I MIGHT decide to do is get bigger rims, that's about it. The reason I want the car to have alarm is because it will be parked in the driveway, and when summer comes, I am afraid some ******* might try and steal it or break in. It already happened to my brothers car, some wigger broke in, and while the alarm saved the car, the bastard managed to damage the door.

Nothing worse than car thieves, ****ing *******s have no respect towards people's property whatsoever, some people bust their *** to buy a car only to have some asswhipe try and steal it.

The thing is if I get it from the dealer, I wont have to wait for it, when I get the car, it will be all installed, so that's one good thing about doing it that way. I'll give it some more thought.

I'm not quite sure how much the dealer is charging for their alarm but based on their other stuff, they're most likely over priced. I'm sure with the price that you are going to pay for their alarm you'd be able to get a better after market one. It doesn't take long for a shop to install the alarm so don't worry about it too much.
I have a viper alarm and it does the job well...

pager alarm is like what it says... when your alarm goes off, so will the paging system that it comes with. Usually with your key chain... quite pricey but well worth the $$$$$

How far will the pager alarm work? what's it's reach?

FlippedOut

I might try and haggle my dealer too. You know, tell him I will buy the car ONLY if he gives me free alarm.

the reach would be less then 50 yards on good reception...
i guess it also depends on the brand of pager..

and ask for free floormats too...

If it's too much $$$$$, I probably wont get it then, I'll just get the regular alarm that will wake me up in the middle of the night if someone messes with my car. That's all I need the thing for, the rest is up to me and my firearms.

DUDE, NO

And whoever thought you can get an HONDA OEM alarm for $400 . Sorry don't mean to insult you, but Honda Original Equipment alarms are practically better than what everyone is buying, hence the price. Its so fun installing OE alarm because its just Plug and Play since the cars are pre-wired for the alarm, along with features you have no idea about. For the price of $400, your looking into get an entry level alarm at the dealers, it will be crap. I'd say it would be an Audiovox Pursuit because it'll make it look original using stock remote . For 150$ you can get a deal on one known alarm, Compustar, a 2way pager alarm system with a remote starter. Might as well add a few siren / deafeners in the car the fuc* up the thieves ears trying to break in, I know I will definately go overboard on the sensors and the sirens, well worth it to see some guy suffer . I strongly advise you to either get HONDA OE (make sure it says OEM HONDA) on the contract, or a fairly well known aftermarket brand, Compustar, Clifford, Viper (Well same company as Clifford ), theres alot, do some research but than heyyy I'm just a 16 year old who doesn't have his own car, so well I don't know anything.

You can get the OEM Honda alarm from US websites like handaccessories.com they are charging $120 USD, once you get it to Canada probably gonna be up to $200-250 cdn plus install (can probably do it yourself, but hey) so I'd negotiate the dealer down based on that, or even better get them to throw it in free
