GTI 1.8T all the way or if u r serious wait a few months for the new R32 its SICK!!!! i would take a german engineered car neday, my buddy has the 1.8 glx 4 door and its sick, oettinger body kit , full neuspeed suspension, the car doesnt boogie yet but its a beauty!
VW VW VW VW VW VW
VW VW VW VW VW VW
1.8T....most ppl know i am a german car fans and vw is always in my blood. just i couldnt afford one back in 2001 or i will be driving a 1.8T jettta now.
AzimuthX: have u driven a 1.8T before? if not then go try one then drive the RSX-S
it's the turbo that impress me and the TORQUE (something that japanese car wont have as much as the german car)
and my friend has a 2000 vw jetta tdi and it has less problem than our 7th gen (according to what some ppl posted about their 7th gen problems) and it smoke our civic no problem off the line (90 vs 115HP but it's the torque that does the job)
German engineering isn't that bad
again my pick goes to 1.8T and TDI

Thats kind of a rhetorical question because obviously we know the answer...
But it seems Booo is going to pusue in getting the GTI... I do like the styling of the vehicle,a nd the dynos from mods are impressive.

that's true.....yeah I got to admit the RSX looks "higher" than others........Honda hasn't been coming up with really nice looking cars lately.......but anyways....I still choose Honda...for its style...
unless you are talking about like...350Z or something.......
anything around that price range (RSX, 1.8T...) I would choose a Honda...I don't know why..

haha.. unfornately my sister in NY has one.. so if i did kinda get swayed to get one.. she would just rag on me about it.. anyway. i just dropped off my ride at a shop today to get more insurance done.. and hopefully it gets fixed and then i will get an estimate for it... as per request by the great powers above me..
but i have a funny feeling they want me to trade my ride in for a 4 *****...

u can swap out the stock turbo for a Garret K series (K03 is good but some ppl want more juice and go for K04)
then u can do a custom intercooler (i know how to do it cuz i met a guy who did one for his eclipse and it's so damn cheap...msg me for more info on that)
then little mod on turbo gain so much power, then get BOV and wastegate and u are all set
and for the info, vw golf only make the 4 doors 1.8T golf from 2000 and 2001 model year
after 2001 1.8T only available on GTi (2 doors hatchback) and Jetta and Passat
i think Jetta is the best bang for the buck out of all VW
Golf is good but i like the sedan style better
believe it or not, the parts for vw is almost hte same as honda (sometime it is cheaper). my friend told me that cuz they all drive vw and they are the one who educated me on them
Boo if u need more infos on vw, contact me...i dont know all but i know enough to share with euro car fans

also 2000-2001 1.8T were all 150HP from the factory
the engine was suppose to be 170HP (just like the audi but audi dont want ppl all buy vw and forget the audi so make the car less hp and detune it)
but after 2 years of production, they realize the cost to detune them is higher than keeping the engine at it's regular HP so they let it sit at 180HP and taht way keep the cost down so u see more 1.8T on the road now.
back in 2000 and 2001 u see so little 1.8T model becasue they were over price and anotehr reason why i didnt pick one up.
so 2002-up VW 1.8T all come with 180 HP and have 4 years/80,000km bumper-to-bumper warranty
and standard 5 years/100,000kms powertrain warranty to go along with it
