OT:Painting stock wheels
Maybe it is just me but is gunmetaling and powder coating stock wheels becoming cool. I wish i had ppics of the cars that come around here. Ive seen a few sunfires and cavaliers. Is this cool, or a cheap way of making your car look worse

If you are really set on doing it, try epoxy coating! Its cheaper and last a long time too. "Tri Crete Coatings" is a place where I get most of my stuff done. They will even sand blast (or in the case of your stock rims bead blast) and then paint them.

i dont know some rims would look alright powdercoated or painted...but than again most stock wheels for a honda ( in my citys case) cavaliers and sunfires, are 15' or 14's.... i tihnk a bigger wheel just looks cleaner
i just powdercoated my rims this spring

one of my tires blew out last year so i had alot of curb damage and one rim was actually bent...had to repair them anyways so...
got it done here:
http://www.carcone.com/
it was $100/rim for repair, refinish, powdercoat and clearcoat

My brother painted his own rims (which used to be mine!)
Anyways, he did a real good job and took him a long time to do it.
We lost use of the garage for about a week. First he primed them up nice and thorough. Then each day he applied a nice coat of gunmetal paint.
Each of the last few days he applied an even coat of clear coat. He's gone through the winter with them and not even a scratch on 'em.
They look sweet. BUT, only do it if you have the time and patience.
