HOLY F*CK! IT HURTS!!!
i went and shopped around at 3 different tatoo shops. 1st one was okay, the girl showed me around the place. 2nd store was very clean, and the man and lady talked to me for a bit. 3rd place looked like a shack and the man didn't seem to knowwhat he was talking about. i decided to go back to the 2nd store.
they greeted me again and blah blah blah ... they gave me a panphilt to read then made me sign a contract saying i understood it. afterwards, a chick came to lecture me how i should take care of the piercing and stuff like that. as i was sitting in the waiting room, i started to sweat, thinking of all the negative comments u guys made about nipple piercing. it was finall my turn. as he got ready for all the tools, i tried to stay calm, but my feet just could not stop moving. finally, he finishes his set up. "take off your shirt," he says. so, i do as i was told. he askes which side i wanted it done on. "left," i say. he made dots to indicate where the piercing would go, then asks for my permission. "uhhh.... ok sure?!" i said. "ok, this is the part that will hurt the most...just relax... think of happy thoughts." okay, happy thoughts...BUT HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK OF SOMEHTING LIKE THAT AT THIS MOMENT!!.... i roll up my fist and toes as he used something to clamp on my nipple. this set took about a min... and the pain just got worse as time dragged on. "ok now don't look, and take 3 deep breaths" he told me. i thought to myself .. f*ck... here it comes, i take my "deep" breaths (more like 3 tiny sniffs) and "HOOOOLLLYYY SHEEIIITTTTTT!!! ".... i screamed out ... "ok ok, the needle's through," he says. "AHHHHHH FFFF*CCCKKKKKKK!" i scream out again. ok, your ring is in now. at first i din't wnat to look, thinking i was smeared in blood. finally i take a peek, ... but there it was ... no blood..just my nipples with a ring+ball.
now, my nipple feels really funny. combination of hurt, stinging sensation, and a feeling like someone's giving you a purple nirple. what's done is done.. but i would not recommend it to anyone.... unless you can take the pain.

Rep Power: 306 My tattoo did not hurt that much. Only a bit of pain while doing it, then it itched for a bit.
Now the tongue piercing was another story. I felt it go in, that part went okay, even though I have a phobia about needles. But the following days were hell. You don't realize what your tongue does until you cannot use it. Eating mashed potatos for days and not being able to talk.
But now it is healed and soon I will be able to see how it works, lol.

Piercings hurt more than tattoos but for a few seconds, after which it's kinda like a cut on the pierced area until it heals. A tattoo is less pain but spread out over a longer time as they draw on your flesh. But after each of my tattoos, they just felt kinda like a bad bruise.
The worst part of getting body art done is the paranoia one has about taking care of it. My first tattoo, I almost OVERcleaned it, cause I didn't want an infection that would lead to deformation of the work. My first major piercing was my nipple ring, and MAN was I careful with that thing. Nothing but very loose cotton shirts for like a month. Now that I look back on it, I was being too careful.
Oh, and rickinthescv, I hear ya on the mashed potatoes. But you know, 8 hours after I got my tongue pierced, I was at a bar drinking rye & cokes and smoking Belmonts. But security wouldn't let me bring in my bottle of Listerine (cos it was alcoholic) so I left it with them outside and after every cigarette I'd go outside, they'd hand me my lil bottle, and I'd swish and spit, right in front of the bar. As I got progressively more hammered it started to look bad, what with patrons waiting in line and seeing this drunk Filipino dude come staggering out and rinse and spit mouthwash right in front of them. Hey, at least I wasn't cleaning the nipple ring in front of them too....

how did u turn your ring? does it hurt? it says i have to when i'm in the shower.
the cleaning process is such a bitch. i have to shower 2times a day.
after each shower, clean with spectro jel for a min, then dip in sea slat solution for 5-10 min....this goes on for 2 damn weeks!
