i posted this idea before all these site changes, obviously it got lost
so BOO, PLS STICKY
....i had good response to this so i'll post it
again and we'll see how it goes.....the ideal is to go down to Cayuga
dragway during an import event, we can all hang out, check out the cars
(racers, show-cars, etc -large variety of all makes)....the first import event is
june 1, i would love to meet up somewhere central to everyone and we could
all cruise down, it's about a 20 minute drive down the QEW, and then another
20+ minutes SW of stoney creek...spectator entrance fee is somwhere around $15
if you want to run it's up to you - the organized racing doesn't start untill around
2-3PM, up untill then, you can run all you want for $50 (track opens @ 10am)...
for everyone who feels like
at the $50 race fee, that's because you
can actually take part in the organized racing if you want, if you just want to put
in a few runs go down on a T&T day, it's $20 to run all day....the point of this meet
is to watch the organized racing, although iam sure some of you will shell out $50
to run each other, or to try out the track anyway....YOU DON"T HAVE TO RACE......so,
if your in let me know, and i'll keep everyone updated as the date gets closer...
thanx...alex-aka-1973....oh, yeah, if you've never been to the track before, and
don't do much street/track racing, but read all the QM times in the magazines, you
will find this trip really interesting

FOB...YOU DON'T HAVE TO RACE....there's tons of great racing to watch
like i said in my original post, if you just want to check out what your car can do, go down on a test and tune day when it's $20 to run all day....this is about WATCHING RACING, that being said, iam sure some people will pay the $50 to run....between 10am and 2pm, you can run
all you want, in a non-race session.....if you don't want to run don't run, there's lots of other $hit to do!!...there will be at least 50-100 different cars running that day, everthing from 10 second civics, to 12 second DSM's, to 18 second hyundai's and everything in between, tons of swaps, turbos, everything + lots of show cars, only about 30-50 of the cars that run in the morning end up racing....most people go out, run for fun in the morning and then watch the racing in the afternoon, or you can just watch runs+racing all day long, whatever....in terms of being stock & slow, 7thgens are quite the opposite, iv'e ran about 10-20 times last year, both at st.thomas and cayuga, my fastest time (remember the temps last year were crazy, something between 32-40 degrees w/humidity every time i went down)..my best time was a 16.3 @ 84MPH, thats a 5sp DX, only performance mod is a really low-pro magnaflow exhaust....(only performance mod, i added this year is a K&N panel filter, no HP, but the car pulls alot smoother) the slowest i ever ran was mid to high 16's, iam not going to put out a huge list of what other cars you might think are alot faster, but for an example, during one of the hottest days @ cayuga, my best time was a 16.5, RSX-S' were pullin anywhere from 15.6..16.2...and there were lots of them, they all ran many times, most of the drivers knew what they were doing and they ran low 16s more than they ran high 15's, my buddy in his 02 SIR ran mid to low 16s, with a best of 16.0@85MPH, now iam sure on a more ideal day for racing, temp wise, the ac's would run solid low to mid 15's....the SIR high 15s, i wonder what i will run.....but this is the point, you get a chance to see what a car really runs (as long as the driver can drive)...
don't worry, the 6thgens are by far the slowest on the track DX and LX models run solid 17's and 18's even w/ your regular assortment of minor mods, (intake, headers, exhaust, etc)...i've only seen one other 7thgen run, it was on that really $hitty day near the end of the summer were i had my worst times, it was an SI w/ SRI & EXHAUST, he only ran 4 times, best time was a 16.7, can't remember the MPH, iam sure alot of that was the driver......oh yeah, your slow a$$ running 16's, especially @ the track, (but nowhere near the slowest car there), but its very respectable for a stock car under $16.000 w/ 115HP...think of this as an educational trip
.......
