CIVIC WORLD....WTF????????????????

..this site is turning into CIVIC WORLD??!!....iam not trying to be narrow minded or anything, and yes, i love change, but WTF????...i thought the whole point of this site was so that 7thgen civ owners could have a base from which to learn about our cars, set up meets, find out about new parts, and just throw around BS...there are plenty of sites out there for other gen civs, the only thing thats going to happen from generalizing this site is alot of confusion, and a major dilution of info and learning....it's not gonna work, too much difference between 7thgen civs and the previouse gens in all the important areas, maybe the big D should write out the first sentance of his mission statement 500 times on a chalkboard, (the diologue beside his car on the home page)....this site is really important i want to talk to people that have the same car i do...D should just turn this site into CAR WORLD, at least then we could discuss the ups and downs of a macphearson front with cavalier owners...... The people on the site are obviously civic fans in general and more so 7th gen. fans. It's expected that civics are going to come up and I really don't see this being a general civic site at all. 90% of the info is targeted towards our cars.

-a site dedicated only to new civics is great until we become the ppl with the previous gen civics!
-it is ok if the site becomes widespread to all civics..there will still prolly be seperate forums and stuff to keep things clear and organized?
-not the end of the world....

I read your post fine but what I didn't get until after was the e-mail from D. I see your point after getting the e-mail. From Ds standpoint he's trying to appeal to a bigger market...makes sense and now there's no 7thgen site.

I personally don't care what he does as long it doesn't become impossible to find the information on your specific year that your looking for. If he has areas for 7thgen, 6th, 5th whatever that's fine. The site is gonna turn into a big flame war which is irritating as it is..

I'm not being sarcastic- If D turns this into an annoying site maybe you should or someone start a decent 7thgen site..

I vote for a new name...i really dont like the sound of civic world...makes it sound like we r tryin to rule the universe with our cars..well sorta..but anyway some other name! but not civic world..its like sayin civic planet..
and i agree that there should be seperate forums especially for the specific gen civics...

yah thats very true, there are tons of civic sites out there. when i first got my car it took me less than a minute to find this site, but if it becoimes so generalized its going to be hard to keep up with all this stuff.

well i guess we have to wait and see what its like!! I actually like my 7thgencivic stickers and wont want to talke them off, but i guess if people still go to 7thgencivic.com it gets directed to CIVICWORLD....i wouldnt want to put a CIVICWORLD sticker on my car though. That'd be a little gay. If i new how to make a website than ide make a new website.. but who knows maybe this website will actually be good....

i think that gregs got it right....the flame wars will reach an all time low...maybe there will be different sections for different things but it will feel less personal, look at what a pain in the *** joeb16a is/was (honda guru)....what the f-ck is he doing on this site anyway??, he hasn't added one piece of constructive info to this site, and alot of it has to do with his general dis-interest in 7th gens, that goes for most people i know with other gen civs, i ain't all that interested in other gen civs, f-ck, i don't drive one do i??!!......it's gonna be a mess....D must see this as a career move or something, there's no way he's doing this to better the site, and that's for sure......in the end though, as long as this "canada east" section stays together, things should be ok....

well i already scoped out the new site and i can tell u its some what better . GTA and Ottawa will be seperated into 2 section's
and u can see ur location and ur post count on the left side. it is very nicely laid out.
but it will have a somewat feel of Toronto civic forum when u post ..
like u click on post and it will say it will now take u back to the thread.
i will try to ask for a GTA - FS & WTB section soo it keeps all those threads in one section.
wats ur take on this?

and dont worrie canada east is still there.
everything will still be there but some more sections (forums ) have been added to the mix.
personally i dont really care what happens as long as CAN east is still around haha.
there is prolly no need to go to 7thgencivic.com but if u guys feel that it is a necessary thing to do. then there is probably nothing one can do to stop u.
but the new site is still in its change over state but it looks HYPE HYPE!!!

Well as long as they don't change this site TOO much and as long as Can East forum is still around then I am fine....
