That's what my friend claims his friend has. It's supposed to be the fastest Civic in Ontario. Quarter mile in 8 sec. Is this really possible for a Civic??

That car actually smoked a 2001 Corvette so badly that when it crossed the finish line Corvette couldn't even be seen in the distance.

Bullshit! Canada's fastest Civic is Sergio Lisboa's. The canadian record is 9.28@ 157 mph. That's the closest a civic in canada has seen to 8 seconds.

He is running a 1992 hatchback with a 1.8L GSR integra motor with a Fastrax T72 turbo at 35 pounds of boost! Check out JAN/FEB's Performance Auto and Sound mag. The car is on the cover and there is a 6 page article on his car.

Maybe that was the car my friend was talking about. I figured bullshit too when my friend said a Civic smoked a 2001 Vette. Ah well, I guess I'll check out that article if I can find it on the net.

This is really interesting! A GSR engine swap mean it's no longer a Civic though, right? I wonder what the most HP you could get out of a 1.7L 115hp Civic engine? How much am I looking to spend if I want to boost it by about 40 or 50HP? And what would I have to install to achieve this?

You should go to ETD Racing in Brampton. They worked on Mike Palijan's car (white honda hatchback-used to be quickest in Canada). They do custom turbos. Check out etdracing.com. If you want to go cheap, Nitrous Oxide is the way to go for cheap power, but your engine won't last too long. A 50hp shot goes for about $900 installed.
