MAN. What a difference a new catalatyic converter makes!! I guess my performance has been slooowly deterriating over the time, and I didn't even know. I just got it replaced under warrenty, and the car has much more power now.

It's so noticeable, especially in mid-range and top-end, I almost shocked myself merging onto the highway. Crazy!

I'll show you many publication tests that prove Corollas are quicker.. but better yet, you can race my buddy's shitty Corolla! If he doesn't beat you by 2 full car lengths by the time you hit 100km/h, I'll buy you a beer...

Man my f*****g car is f*****g fast!!

I mean, not like FAST FAST... but it's sure as hell gotten damn quicker. I'm still in awe... ran into my brother tonight, who was driving his girlfriend's 6th Gen Civic, automatic as well. We went at it several times, off the start, and in the highway, and I was spanking him left right and centre.

I can't believe how I let my car become so slow without noticing.. well, I did notice, but I just thought it was my imagination. Passing power, from 90km/h to 120km/h is ridiciously quick.. happens like in one second now.

Isn't the corolla S the same engine/suspension than the other '03 corollas..?.. i think it just comes with sunroof, different interior, oem rims, and an (ugly) body kit.

That's right.. the quickest Corolla is the cheapest one--CE. The one without power windows, locks, AC, unpainted parts.... that one is light, and really goes like snot.

Corolla S does have better tires... will help on take off during hard launches, but thats about it.

That and also the fact that all there engines are rated @126 or 130hp. Something like that. And each engine has the Variable Valve Timing.
Even the lower models. Wish I can say the same thing about the civic. The DX and LX are stuck w/ 115hp non v-tec engines. My DX needs some V-TEC.

Yep, and here's the clentcher--Corolla also has way more power down below. Check out the dyno sheets for both cars.. at lowly 3,000rpm Corolla is pumping out WAY more power than Civics.

You see, Civics use SOHC engines.. it's crappy. Honda shines with DOHC. I mean, under the circumstances, it's pretty efficient. 1.7L. 4 banger. No VTEC. Single Cam. 50miles per gallon. So it's quick for what it is.

But it difinitely could use a more hi-tech approach. Civics haven't really gotten any faster (except the special SiRs) over the last 12 years or so. Power and torque has increased marginally, but so has the vehicle's weight.

It's time for a revolution...... 2.0L sounds nice.
