Should i buy hid for $300?

A guy is offering my Ballof's 6300k hid kit, for $300, The kit doesnt have any bulbs. I'm just wondering am i just stupid for spending so much money on lights? Can any one give me advice? Ever heard of these before? Any good? He claims its brighter than the piaas and the philips and are only sold in japan.

he says he bought it for 1200$, and crashed his car, so the bulbs are shattered but the kit is still intact. he is getting rid of the kit because hes gettin a tsx later

and how much are bulbs?

here are some links

If he crashed his car you have no idea if the kit is intact and working. Make sure you don't give him the full amount until you have it installed and tested with new bulbs.

IMHO, I wouldn't spend that much on lights, or even projectors.

That's not a bad price for ballasts (I'm assuming that's all he's selling you) but you don't even know if they work or not. I don't know of any other way to test the ballasts and make sure they work besides buying new HID bulbs and hooking them up. Here's the catch though, the bulbs are the most expensive part of a HID system.

EDIT: I just checked their website and there is no list of a 6300k HID system.

he says it works for sure, cause he only had a minor crash with the bumper,

and the bulbs are quite expensive, the retail ballof's are 200$ each and hella's i got a quote for 250$ a pair

no point on trying to save money this way, you'll end up losing more in the end, just buy a complete set

if i were u, id think tice before you buy any kind of HID system.

our headlights were not designed to handle that kind of system, everything is plastic and damn it gets pretty hot......

plus it wont shine straight, instead it will be blinding alot of people!
this was told to me by Performance improvements!

yup they know they're ****... well in Hamilton anyways,....
think about it...

u can do better

Actually that's the funny thing about HID's. They draw less current and run cooler then standard halogen bulbs but at the same time put out more Kalvin's (light).
I don't know who told you that HIDs run hotter then halogen bulbs, but that is completely incorrect.

Well HIDs are universal as long as you have the same type of bulbs .... (eg, 9006, 9004 ....etc)
So why dont you invest for it now and move the HID unit to another car when you change your car (if they have the same type of bulbs)?

IMHO I think HIDs is one of the best mod ! Looks nicer, brighter, and more safe @ night !
