exact same thing happened to me last night, it was -42 withwind chill, and a crcking sound came from the from glass, very loud, i was sure the glass was going to crack or something, but this morning the sound was gone, i am guessing it is the cold, if its been doing that for a while, then try to wash your car from the bottom, you know to get ride of all the salt and ****, if nothing happens, ask the dealer

I think it's water (ice) stuck between the panels cracking when the body flexes.

I don't think it's a serious problem. Though I realize my koni's have been extra stiff lately, heh heh...

Cars do tend to rattle more in winter.. it sounds nerdy, but plastic molecules shrink as temperature decreases (or any molecules for that matter, except for water & beer I think). So fittings will be looser, including the screws and the panels. So more rattles are expected in winter.. you'll see in the summer, there are less rattles, because parts expand.

Nerdy, but true.

I agree with that 01Coupe!

Just one question, you didn't happen to run over a puddle when this rattling happened did you?? Cause we all experience some kind of rattling when it rains or when we run over a puddle...

just a thought....
