Way off topic here, but I'd thought some of you out-of-towners might actually know some of the breeders and can hook me up.

I mean, I can't believe it! Half a year ago I walked into a pet store and bought a dog for my GF, <kaching> no questions asked. Now I'm trying to get one for my parents and holy sh|t it's such a hassle trying to get one from a breeder. They have to interview you on the phone and in person, ask 50000000 questions about your lifestyle etc. AND in the end you might have to get on a waiting list or you have to be lucky, coz I had TWO freaking offers turned down coz I didn't visit fast enough, ARGH!

Anyway, still waiting to hear from a couple of breeders but thought to try here as well. I assume none of the TO guys will have any leads? Prove me wrong.

there was a guy on the torontocivics.com forum...... who had like eight golden retriever puppys.... he was getting rid of it for a hundred bucks a piece...... not sure if you saw it


but that forum is down too now....
if its possible, see if you can check their history....

That was a hoax. It was also sent to the world in Email, saying the puppies were to be "put to sleep" if not given away in 2 weeks, junk mail to the world in a couple of days. My mom got it, my dad got it, my manager got it, my GF got it, the whole D/T Toronto got that Email.

In fact, that's what prompted my family to decide to get one, haha... Now I'm frantically trying to find a breeder that will actually SELL one to me, damn. To think I actually have to pretty much BEG them to sell me a $800 puppy. Geez, I'm even giving up half my rims fund for this and that's the attitude I get from these breeders, unbelievable.

Sorry, just had to vent a bit, as I've always been a "I'm the consumer, the customer is always right" kinda guy (at least it's also how *I* do business, my customer is always right) so being treated like this and not being able to get what I want (with my $$$) is really frustrating.

ya i want one of those too.. its so cute and that guy in torontocivic is selling it for $100 but i think its all gone -_-
i really want one..but my stupid bf dun let me get one.. he said until me 6 years later...since i cant even take care of my self

the dogs put to sleep....? i dont remember reading that on that thread on the torontocivics.com forum...

it was some white guy...... he even had pics up of the puppies.... but i guess it still may be a hoax.

but im sure he didnt say anything about puttting them to sleep. im about 99% sure about that.

i heard about the email one... they said they were giving it up for free....... but this guy on the civic forum said he was giving 'em away for a min. 100 bucks each. and when one guy mentioned about selling them to pj's... he got mad 'cause he didnt like that place....

so i dunno..
too bad the site is down.... or i'll even check myself, 'cause i was thinking about getting one too.
