We were there from 10am to 4 pm! It was better in the morning, I had alot of runs. When we got there there were only 5 cars. There was too many mustangs and talons. Around 1pm there was an accident an I waited in line for 1:45 mins, I was pissed. Plus on top of that there was like 20 muscle cars and 100 imports, and the muscle cars had 5 runs by the time we had one. It sucked, all the import drivers got so mad! So did I! I did'nt see any 7th gens or any celica's, was kinda disappointed, ohh well! Anyhoo looks like well have to do a good old fashion street race!

I'll by you a beer after no wait i'll give you money for a beer (They won't let me in the bars yet...:laugh Anyways give me a call or PM me when your ready... Oh yah the highlight of the day was a mustang (With a t88 turbo) that did 7s. He had a hard time to hook!
Add these cars to my kill list:
-Z24 cavalier (Modded)
-1994 civic Si (Modded)
-1993 Gs (Modded)
-1996 LS (Modded)
-1991 gofl (Modded)
The rest of the cars at the track I was murdered by ... They actually put me up against a 11s stang!

I can't tell you, but all my times were consistent. If I tell you that will ruin the whole CIVIC vs. CELICA deal, I don't want to ruin that... The times were not amazing but they were pretty decent. I was amazed by my reaction time all within the .5 to .6 bracket range that's out of 13 runs... Not bad
Hey Redvic,
Can I see what your 1/4mile times were........can you also post your 60' times.
what mods do you have.
According to your kill list, you should be able to kill Celica GT no problem.

I never underestimate any car! I though I was going to loose to the Z24, but at the end of the quarter mile I beat it by 4-5 car lenghts. There's alot of cars I thought I would loose to but infact I won, and vis versa. Long live suspense!

Put it this way bud........The new Z24s are very quick cars and they easily break into 15s and now I'm wondering......hehe....regardless....I see you soon! Also,,Cayuga is open this Friday according to its website!
Si does not really generate more horsepower than LX in reality. It used to, back when Civics were rated to produce 106HP. But now, when dynoed, the two cars are awfully similar. In fact, LX generates power a lot earlier than the Si (eventant by the fact that you can cruise at 100km/h on an LX at 2,500RPM, whereas Si needs 3,000RPM to maintane the same speed). Si has a slight advantage in the peak horsepower (by just 1 or 2HP)
Ummmm, the reason that the Si requires higher rpms at 100 is because it has a taller final drive ratio (duhhhh closer gearing than the LX). you were just saying how good that was when you were talkin about how close the Celica's gears were. and now your questioning why the Si requires higher RPMs at cruise than an LX?!?
Hmm sorry where did you get this info from??? As far as I know, they have the identical gearing ratio. For some reason, I doubt they would go out of their way to install a more aggressive gearing ratio for a car that is barely quicker (if at all). I know the SiR has a shorter gearing ratio for sure... but not the Si. I checked on both US & Canadian Honda website, but neither sites mention it (yet they managed to point out things like compression ratio, wheel base, etc). I think if there was a difference, it would have been stated. Also, if the Si indeed did have a shorter gearing ratio, that would make it signicantly quicker than the LX. But it's not--some say it's even slower.
Someone correct me about this gear ratio thing if I am wrong, but I don't think I'm wrong.
I know am I right about the fact that Si engine has higher compression ratio (9.9:1 compared to 9.5:1 for LX). And it is also a FACT that engines running at higher compressions always lose some power at lower end. This will contribute to its higher RPM highway cruising, which is by 500RPM not just by 100RPM.

Edit: Hmmm i didn't notice that the 5th gears were different too. but that just further proves my point that the gearing is not the same.
