Rep Power: 0 5thGen: Good Engine Swap Places in the area??
After Christmas I plan on buying a 92-95 civic hatch... as cheap as i can find it as long as the bodys mint. First thing i plan on doing is swapping the engine out. What are some good places around here that are experienced in doing swaps into 5th gen civics? I'm deciding between B16 and B18B1... if i go with B18 im gonna go for a turbo and if i choose B16 I'm gonna go N/A. Any suggestions or comments on this would be apreciated as well. Also if anyone has price ranges from the places it wud be good
peace

Rep Power: 0 Go to NEXT LEVEL AUTOMOTIVE in toronto. I am good friends with them and they do extremely good work. There 2 most prominent cars that they have done work on are a 93 bubbleback with a gsr that does 13.2 and a supercharged B16A CRX that does high 12s. That's where I am going to get my turbo done, they got some old school trix up their sleeves When the time comes let me know I'll get you a deal!

Rep Power: 0 Tell me exactly what you want, and I'll see what I can do... Sir, Gsr, H22... Personally I would go H22= displacement. Displacement is Hp best friend, a bubbleback with an H22 does mid to low 13s. Next level have done many swaps, it depends what you want, like that Crx was not an eazy job to fit that blower in! But they care about their work and their reputation. Your choice, a h22 will cost you about as much as a gsr, but you get 30 more horses! One of the fastest guys on the street know has a bubbleback with an H22a and a 100 shot of nitrous. That whole setup isnt that hard on the wallet and he does mid 12s. Or go Gsr a B-series engine with unlimited mods, it's 250 Lbs lighter than the H22?!? You first have to think about what you want: a nice asthetic looking car, that does quick 1/4 mile times, or a full fledged 1/4 mile car that looks like shiat. Remember that every 100lbs is .10 seconds! Weight+Power(Displacement)= one hella fast car! It's all about what you Want!

Rep Power: 0 You can check out Defcon/Kaizen in Pickering, they don't mess around. They can do any of those mentioned swaps for your car... H22, LS Turbo, B16, B18C1 or C5, LS/VTEC, etc...
Don't worry.. it's the same shop location
Defcon Racing

Rep Power: 0 I havent been on fer a few days so im going to bring this one back from the dead.
To the RSX... NO, i wasnt even thinking about that.. im looking to spend 10 grand and hit low 14s or faster... not 30 grand and hit high 15s. I dont think i want to go with the H22, I want to keep it as light as i can and i would also like to keep powersteering. However i dont think i want AC. I have to decide what i want to do still... B16 and do a lot of internals and maybe a supercharger or 98 ls non-vtec and get it ready for a 20psi + turbo so i can run 11s. I'd also like it to run fine without rebuilding it every 20000 km or anything. I know where defcon is and i used to know the owner of the shop that was there before it. I havent heard much about them though so im not sure. I need to consider price and quality and im not sure how much i should be spending on a straight swap.

Rep Power: 0 KurupTLX: no, i'm not selling my car, i'm just selling the engine tranny and ecu. looking to get around $5000. let me know what you think or if you want to make a different offer.
And i don't think running 20psi and keeping your car reliable is realistic. well maybe you can make it happen.
well whatever you decide good luck.
