Hey Rob,
I know from Eric you guys are insanely busy so take your time if need be, I
wouldn't be getting anything done untill late october anyhow. But.. Given,
new pistons, new cams, Headers(I have the ULEV with dual cats) decked, and
ported heads...how much of a gain could be expected?. I would not assume
more than a 30-40HP gain would be feasable?,,
Cheers
Donald

dude.. like i dont wanna bash u or anything but seriously are u gonna be happy after all thats done?
ok after all that money u spend on it u would only be able to keep up with a lightly modified rsx-s
but if its heavy moded its pretty harsh and ur gonna kick yourself
u already got 4 grand saved up. it doesnt hurt much more if u wait till u save that 12,000 or the difference by then u could find another fast car that u can trade it for. hehe trust me i was all hard core on the civic but like i learned the hard way. its much better getting what u want rather than spend all this money and not be happy about it. like if ur down for getting that package go for it.
but i vouch for u to keep saving and get a better motor

yes i agree with the rest of the board, the money is better spent elsewhere....i wouldnt even bother with a swap like boo said, im not crazy about the civic, dont get me wrong, love my car....but if im looking for speed i'll wait and get a better car and then mod it.....just my opinion though. i would be interested in looking at a 7thgen with a k20....thats about it though

Thing is..my cars almost worthless as a trade-in because of the extensive interior modifications I've done.. The entire car is sound deadened and weighs about 290lbs over stock. I've put bazillions of hours into it allready. Getting a new car would just mean starting back from Scratch. I think I'm just gonna keep an alert at all local scrapyards for an SiR or RSX (s) engine, transmission and crossmember..I'd rather spend $4k on a cars engine than $2k on a body kit(kit paint and install) and another $2k on wings, Altezzas, projectors....
As Always there's tons of factors..

cool glad u finally made up ur mind. i agree i already have all basic's for my car but hell it still doesnt move as great. hahaha ah well... i got this car for its great mileage hehe
just keep saving up.. thats what im doing maybe out of all of this ill get something well worth my time. but for now i really low motivation for car parts.
