Article about exhaust noise .......
Read a interesting article about Exhaust noise and the fact that police are issuing tickets for excessive noise - the article basically stated that there is no measure of "excessive" and they are able to issue tickets on anything they think is excessive....in other words iits very subjective - WELL in California there is a bill being passed where a driver goes to a shop for a emmissions test and have their exhaust and muffler checked for decebles and is issued a certificate saying it is below a certian level of noise and then, if pulled over by police can show the police this certificate - AND HERES THE GOOD NEWS - this ill is being proposed in Canada as well.....from what is sounds like it will be in effect by Dec in Califonia so hopefully by next summer it will be here - The article is from SCC the July issue.....they said they have tracted a couple of cases where the person owning the exhaust took it to court with proper documents from the companies who provide the mufflers and such, and that the courts still let the ticket stand as their defence was that the companies conduct their own tests and no set standards are in place .........
