AEM CAI
Do you NEED the by-pass for the AEM CAI or can you live without it? I hear that the By-pass valve actually messes up the air that comes in to the engine? But on the other hand I hear that you need the by-pass for the water that could enter the CAI.... I just ordered my AEM CAI to replace my Tenzo R short ram and I ordered the by-pass valve with it, but in case it's not necessary then I can always cancel the by-pass valve...
CB... I posted this on the TECH stuff section but I also want the "Canadian" perspective... kekeke

i was studying the aem cai yesterday at darknights...
taking a look at where the filter is located... put the bypass valve on, the filter is out in the open and water can reach it...
unlike injen... the filter is much better hidden away from liquid or slush...
my $5 worth of knowledge.. hehe

I WANT ONE TOO!!!! waaaaaaaa.....hahaha
No worry man, alot of ppl are using CAI are using them and don't have the valve. Rain wouldn't hurt, the whole filter have to be submerge completely. That means you need almost over 1 feet of water.... in such weather, i don't think ppl would be driving anyways... as for snow same situation... it's unsafe to drive in such snow storms. I've also heard of the byvalve breaking. and some of the foam started to rip...imagine sucking those in......
haha i remember you telling me you went shoving snow with the CAI.... no worry cue... if something were to happen 1028 would have problems way back then.... you'll fine.. i don't have valve either and been through rain...
