Koni price
Hi Tech Auto will do all Koni's for $1k including labour. You guys think it's a good price? I'm riding on stock shocks now, but it occurs to me that it may not be that much money to spend to avoid a harsh ride and a dangerous winter...
But since Koni's will require butchering the stock struts, I can never go back to stock... Scary thought.
Should I wait till other companies come out with better shock packages, or go with Koni when I can? Or do you think nice winter radials will do the trick? (I should change my user name to ParanoidAboutWinter... Haha)

Koni's are good. A lot of people use them, pretty much everyone I know with aftermarket shocks has Koni's. $1000 is a good price for the shocks. I was told $1200 by another autoshop, but that was before they were released.

Yeah, Yellows. I'll actually get them in August, two pay checks later... Screw the plan to get them next year after the stocks blow. People seem to like them, despite a couple of problems people have becoz of DIY... And it's too long to wait for Oct or so for other companies and who knows if they'd be better?

Signed my life away...
$200 deposit later, ordered the Koni's. Hi Tech will put them on for me either Friday or Saturday!! Can't wait!!!
BTW, the rubbing/crunching/popping sound that I had was because of the base for the Eibach springs (or lack of). The Eibach engineer says that since the springs are designed for aftermarket shocks, the compression on stock shocks are too soft, causing the shock to crunch down on the springs and the base of the springs rub against the strut (phew, mouthful).
Anyway, long story short. Eddie at Hi Tech was nice enough to do a custom base for me while he puts the Koni's on, so that 1) won't rub anymore, 2) KONIs!!!! Haha...
