greetings/ newbe

just joined civic forum and would like to say hi and pass on some code reader info. Got a check engine light and a green blinking D light on the dash. trans went into limp mode and started to shift hard at every gear. got code reader and pull a C1555 code. No info on what the code meant so took it to the dealer where their scanner they pulled a po717 code, main input shaft speed sensor, pickup sensor, $109 scan, $120 sensor, $109 an hour, plus tax came out to $420 smackaroos. why couldn't my OBII scanner pick up code po717? anyway just in case anyone runs into the same problem l did hope this helps. thanks

Sounds like one that can't be trusted on your car. Code reader accuracy is hit and miss. Same goes for any aftermarket scanner, some just don't work as desired sometimes.

I was wondering WTF why you got a C code (chassis, ABS type code format) as I read the post.
