Air Intake

I have a 2003 Honda Civic Si and was wondering what an air intake would do to my car if I got one.

I have a performance exhaust already and my car is standard, five speed manual transmission.

What name brands are good, etc.

My local bodyshop guy says TENZO is the best for my Honda Civic, anyone know anything about them, etc ?

Would it give more horsepower ?

All the help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Please

Thank you

Re: Air Intake

PENZO? Never heard of it.

Maybe he's talking about Pennzoil Motor Oil?? Anyways, just search and you will find your answer.

If you want a good all around intake, just go get an AEM V2 and call it a day.

I've got an AEM and I am happy with it.

Re: Air Intake

Sorry guys.

My mistake.

The air intake is called, TENZO.

My bodyshop guy said its the best one out on the market.

It will give me between 9 and 12 more horsepower and make my car/exhaust sound nicer and a lot better.

What do you guys think ?

Re: Air Intake

You can try searching for a Tenzo Intake and see if any other members have tried it. But I doubt you'll be making that much power from just the intake.

Unless you are getting the ECU tuned for the intake, all it'll do is add sound and maybe better top end power.

Re: Air Intake

There is no way you can make 12hp with a cold air intake. Maybe with a full exhaust and a few other mods. I would lean more towards 2-3 hp at the most. It will sound nicer though....I love the sound of a cold air intake. Just look at the intake before you buy it, I have seen alot of cheap intakes around with slag and other metal debris inside the tube. I really like my AEM, but Tenzo doesn't seem to be too bad either. Unless you have some crazy built motor I don't think it really matters if you get a high end one or a cheap one.
