Got a ticket in the States

I got a speeding ticket driving in buffalo over the weekend. It was dark and I was a bit confused and lost on their freeway, friggin maze if you ask me. Any ways, I was going 70mph according to my gps system. I thought the speed limit was 60mph so 10 over is no big deal. It was dark and I look in my rearview mirror and see this car tailing me, so I speed up to get out of the guys way, then the lights come on and it was a cop. Pulled me over and said I was speeding and hit me with 79 in a 55. There was no way I was doing almost 130km/h for sure. I want to fight this but buffalo is a long ride, any one ever been into one of these situations? It was an honest mistake thinking it was 60 not 55 but this cop is raping me on the speed I was going. Also, there was no fine on the ticket, the cop said to either fight it or plea guilty to it and they will give me the fine amount, wtf is that. They are practically telling me to plea blindly to the amount. The states are so messed up. What should or can I do?

I have no idea how it works down there but theres a pretty noticeable difference between going 10 mph over and 10 kmh over.

1mph = 1.66666667 kmh

I believe you are incorrect...
1mph-1.61km/h

BTW, i doubt there was only one lane given the speed limit, so why didnt you just change lanes as opposed to "speed up to get out of the guys way"?

Wtf? He told you to fight it?
That's retarded...why didn't he just give you a warning? lol
You shoulda been like, "WHY WERE YOU RIDING MY A$$! I wouldn't have sped if you weren't on me like that!!!!" When he walked up to your window.

im sure the cop didnt have a radar on you.......

search for ticket lawyers in buffalo online... email then and so forth and see if you have a case.

...and yes.. the buffalo/niagara falls' freeways is like a damn maze.... it's basically a big a s s circle.... but it's like riding the 401, then dvp south, then gardiner westbound, then 427 north, then back on 401 eastbound...... where it can get confussing for tourists.....

my friend had a ticket from the states before... dont think he paid it off... and we crossed the boarder one time... customs didnt have anything on it i believe..... i guess just dont get pulled over again if you go back.....

Not for a majority of states, however I beleive New York has an agreement with Ontario along with most other that border or are close to bordering Canada.
