Rep Power: 0 surface rust on inner window panels.
not to alarm anyone here but when you get a chance check your inner window panels ('01-'03's) "the upper corner part facing out when you open your door, it's where the rubber sleeve ends". (check "MY RIDE" pics for the exact area)mine has a little bit of surface rust which i sanded off and touched up with some T.U. paint. it's caused by the rubber sleeve that gathers a bit of moisture in the winter and then seals it in with the metal which eventually causes oxidation. a buddy of mine that works in an autobody shop told me it's nothing to worry about as it's just surface rust but i just thought i'd bring it to everyones attention. nothing beats early prevention when it comes to rust.
i also went around to a few used honda dealerships and checked out a few used '01-'04's civics and i did notice a little surface rust in the exact area on many of them. must be some kind of factory defect maybe? the worse part is that this is not something you can easily notice as it's location is pretty well hidden. i noticed mine by accident when cleaning my interior. anyone else here notice this problem on their rides?
