you can buy the carbonfiber material on its own (per yard) from ebay and do it yourself. You'll need resent and hardener but its not that simple to do.

I don't really think it's possible to do it yourself... you can't really just lay c/f down and put hardener on it... you'll get to many air pockets.
Once you have a mould, you lay the c/f down and you cover it in resin. Then you have to vacuum seal that biotch so it takes the shape and contour of the mould... this process can take a while.

I know a guy here in London that does custom c/f stuff... if you want I could ask roughly how much it would cost you. What part exactly do you want in c/f?

Hey Den-Den, can you find out how much a roof overlay would cost? I totally gave up on an EL hood, for the same price I could turbo my car twice over.

I'm at work till 4:30 so I'll catch you on msn then... see if you can find anyone else with an EL that would want a c/f hood for that price. Once he has the mold he can make a bunch. I'll post pics of his work later....he's really good.

I'm home at 9 tonight, then changing my oil so I'll be online around 11 if all goes well. As for CF hoods for EL kids, trust me the great majority of my 1.7 cohorts are cheapskates, we've had so many people flake on a GB after begging and pleading for someone to talk to a potential supplier. Don't expect a large turnout or anything.
