confused????
I have 2001 si Im really confused, I know very little about this stuff, I want to lower my car this summer, I dont want to spend the money on shocks or coilovers. I just want a good look and somewhat of a decent ride quality. I have no idea what brand to go with, i know i need a camber kit regardless. any suggestions? I've searched around the site but theres so many different options, somebody just tell me what to do LOL and any suggestions on shops to go to in the gta. oh ya and it needs to be ok for the winter too in terms of height.
thanks for any help!

For a mild drop... save your money.. you won't need a camber kit.
Recommended springs:
Tein S-Tech
H&R
Eibach Pro-kit
Neuspeed Sports

I would also recommend you save your money, you won't need a camber kit with a mild drop. note: all cars have a natural camber...so unless you're pushing 4 degrees...I'd think you'd be ok...but as you can see everyone has a different opinion about camber...
since you're in Markham, I would suggest speedtech for installs...might want to buy the springs somewhere else though...

My suggestion for saving money would be to do it yourself. I am by no means an expert and I am about to lower my car with Eibach Sportlines. Just go to Canadian Tire and get a spring compressor (free with deposit). Then use the advice from your brothers from another mother on here. It is a fairly simple project.
Regarding the DAMPERS (not shocks), you will need to replace them sooner with a lowered car. But with every fun thing comes risk and reward. Anyways I am probably doing the slam this week between exams. Drop a line if you need to know anything about the install.
one last thing. Use penetrating oil about a week before to un seize the bolts. Will save you tons of headaches.

^^
No spring compressor needed for lowering springs. They are short enough to be assembeled into strut.
When taking appart strut with stock spring just offer little resistance to stock spring. It wont kind of shoot out from strut.
Dont worry.
Stock rear spring are even easier.
Catch: To make job waaaay easier, do the following.
Before jacking up the car for the job, first thing you do is to take proper wrench and loose all 2 front and 2 rear strut nuts to the point where they are held by 2-3 threads.

Okay...I skipped most of this thread...I know...I'm lazy...anyways, I just had mine done with 1.5" lowering springs. Had it done at Birtchmount Auto & Spring. They're at Birchmount and Danforth.
The ride is still good. Almost like before...only slightly more bumpy. I love it...gives my car just the right look.....I don't have pics yet as I just did it not too long ago....
