Nice deck... Alpine makes some quality headunits but for that price i'd shop around and look for some other brands in the price range. Alpines been known to be more expensive and have less features then some other decks on the market. The display on that unit looks really small.
Honestly I'm a Pioneer fan. I have the Pioneer DEH-80MP ( Click Here ) and I've been more then happy with it. The key is to purcahse the extended warranty from the retailer. My deck has a 5 year warranty so if anything goes wrong, they fix/replace it. If my deck is no longer being made, they give me a new deck equivilant or greater then what I have now.

I bought my deck from Future shop and bought their extended warranty. If it ever breaks then I get a new one...always buy the extended warranty. Yes my deck is Ipod ready and Sat Radio/XM ready. Organic EL display with three 4v preouts.
909... you can put together a carputer for $400!?!?!?!??!!??! If you're serious I'll sell my deck

I don't think 909 ever stated a full carputer for $400. Reading the words carefully it is, "towards" a carputer. I'm leaning on the screen being at least half of that budget - but maybe my searching on that route is off-basis anyways

The OEL display on the pioneer makes it readable in the Civic. My deck is also a pioneer and only on the most sunniest of days and when the sun is at the perfect angle cant I read that deck. OEL is very good.
For that GPS on the AVIC N1, do you have to pay for that on a monthly basis?

Slimm, the AVIC-N1 DOES have a removable faceplate, with a red LED flashing to resemble an alarm.
I have had a screen in my car for 4 years while I worked at a mall in London. That mall has the WORST car thefts in Canada, by far. I was lucky and never touched.
Jeremy, Yes the Navigation is free. Its sick!

I just got the Alpine 9855 as an Xmas present to myself. I'm uber happy with it...i was kinda iffy on the glide touch but its ridiculously easy to use.
