Anyone do Krown Rustproofing? (In GTA?)

Any do Krown rustproofing on a regular basis?

Within the GTA?

Anyone do it regularly? Or just every other year?

I found this thread on ClubEL.ca .... I remember a huge thread 1-2 yrs ago here for Krown, by some guy named Igor, not sure if same guy....

http://forums.clubel.ca/showthread.php?t=14909

Comments? Looking for input/comments on Krown in general, rustproofing in general, and this guy Igor as well..... so any input/comments would be great.

I have a 2001 EL that's parked outside all the time... I have 7 yr rust proofing from the factory, but most of the crap within the engine bay has been washed out by that GreenStuff or whatever....

I go to Igor in missisauga, every year. I did rust proofing there, after several days after getting my car. I've done it twice so far at krown. You have to get the rust proofing applied every year at krown, otherwise the warranty doesn't apply. Krown has a lifetime warranty on rust proofing, as long as you apply it once a year.

Its 90 dollars plus taxes, so it comes to around 103 and change. That's not much for a whole year's whole. Might as well invest in rust proofing, because we all know Honda's rust.

If you got rust proofing from the factory, why are you inquiring about Krown??

You know that you need to re-apply the rust proofing every year even if you get it from the factory.

btw, that green stuff is the rust proofing liquid, or whatever its actually called. That green stuff is your protection against rust.

I'm asking about aftermarket rust proofing because the crap I got from the dealer.... I asked them whether I need to go in every year, they said NO... Not even for an inspection. And, Acura will only inspect it during a MAINTENANCE check... i.e. during an oil change, etc... Just a 'glance'... And, they will only do that at the dealer I bought the car from!

Based on all that, and based on the fact that most likely I'll be keeping it for awhile, may as well spend money now to do it...

Never again will I do "dealer" rust proofing.

That "green stuff" I was referring to is Simple Green.... I used it in my engine bay, so that may have washed away some of the rust proofing. Other rust proofing goop is probably caked with dirt.

"Krown" is a brand of rust proofing. Similar to "Kleenex" is a brand of tissue paper, Pepsi a brand of cola, etc.

I've never done rust proofing from honda, but I've done rust proofing myself before. Doesn't matter where you get it done, your suppose to go every year to get it re-applied.

If you ask me, your dealer is trying to screw you over. I had a friend who got it done from Mitsubishi and she had an eclipse. I told her rust proofing had to be done every year. She didn't believe me, so I told her to call the dealership and ask. She called, and dealership told her that it does have to be done every year. So she setup a time and they re-applied the rust proofing.

So let's see here. Krown requires you to do it every year, and even Mitsubishit requires you do it every year, but Honda doesn't require you to re-apply every year?? WTF is up with that. Does Honda have a special rust proofing agent?? I don't think so...

Your getting taken for your money. How much extra did you pay for your rust proofing package???

btw, I know "Krown" is a brand of rust proofing. If you read my original statement, it says I go there.

Agreed, he was answering my question.

I went on Krown's website and looked for dealers in my area. You can also check for dealers in the GTA. The site is www.krown.com THe process seems quite thorough. I think this will be my choice for rust proofing. $110.
