Guelphracing
i got this email today, anyone up for this
Hey there,
This is Jessica Maticic, Operations Manager of Guelphracing.com
I am currently Planning Guelph Racing's 2005 Show n' Shine, taking place on
August 20, 2005. This is a one day show, with over 50 Classifications (Sport
Compact, Truck, Lowrider, Bike/Trike and Race Cars) with over 10 Specialty
awards over 4' high.
Our 2004 Show brought out over 1500 spectators, with 250 cars registered,
One of the BEST 1st Year Turnouts in SouthWestern Ontario with all proceeds
going to M.A.D.D.
This year we are planning on Doubling the expected outcome...all proceeds
will be donated to Tsunami Relief Red Cross. Right now I am approaching as
many car clubs as possible to increase the number of cars out to compete. I
am also urging "Car Clubs" to attend, to be eligable for a 5 foot, Best Club
Participation award that will be awarded at the end of the show.
I am also offering specific classifications for certian clubs with a
committed appearance of over 10 vehicles of the same Make/Model/Years.
Deadline to commit to our show is May 1, 2005. Entry for ALL COMMITED CAR
CLUBS result in $5 all Regular and package Pricing (per competitor,) it will
also Guarentee a designated area on the Show Field (providing all members
arrive together the day of the show.)
Please respond back as soon as possible if you are interested.
I will send a proposal over to you, which will make you eligable for a Early
bird draw awarding a FREE "Lifetime QuickLink" to your website on our
Affiliates Page.
If you require any futher information, please feel free to email me at
anytime!
Please communicate this group offer to any other clubs that you have in mind
so I can optimize the outcome of our show.
Thanks for your time,
Jessica Maticic

Scrape by the lake will be Aug 21, 2005 which is a Sunday.
If we go hardcore we could do Guelph on Saturday and Scrape on Sunday.
But this thread also gets me thinking we should list the events we know of and when they are and determine which ones to go to.
I think it would be better to get bigger groups going to fewer shows than smaller groups going to several shows.
And if shows conflict we should analyze which one is better from a location, fee, type of show....etc perspective and pick one.

yes i think it would be cool to do both but then again, thats a lot of time commitment in one weekend so i doubt it will work, unless ppl r willing to make a weekend out of it u know? like we would prolly have to do the hotel thing and all for ppl coming from diff places...
in my book scrape is more impt, just because its been around for longer and local for me and we attended last year, but we can decide in an events thread ill talk to alppy

i like scrape and i dont know anything about guelphracing, but we also have to consider where we'll get more exposure. im sure there is no point to handout flyers at scrape and no one else there drives a 7thgen...but scrape is always fun cause its a different kinda show

Hey there, This is Jessica Maticic...I am the one that sent the email about our show. I was told by a few members of Torontocivics to get your club involved in our show as a group event.
Right now I have several clubs in the Gta and London/Windsor area that have committed over 10 members in order to receive group rates. and I would really like to see your members out there.
I understand that you are proud attendee's of Scrape by the lake. Our club also has a committed appearance at scrape this year which happens to be the date after our show. So if we can do it...so can you.
I am also trying to discuss group rates with hotels in my area, to see if they can offer discounts of those who would find it more convinient to stay overnight. This may help the decision making a bit easier.
Please let me know if there are any other questions or concerns and I will do my best to help you out.
Thanks
