Rep Power: 0 How much can I trade my car for?
I'm thinking about trading in my 02 civic si-g coupe with 90k on it for an audi 1.8T quattro and have been looking on autotrader. I went to check out one of these audis and ask him how much i would get for my car if i done a trade in. he said roughly $11k and I said that's kinda low and he starts blabbing that he can get this car for that much easily at a car auction.
Is that what the market is for this car? I look on autotrader and something similar to mine i see go for around $15-17k. Now I know I'm not gonna get that much but isn't $11k kinda low of this trade-in? Am I suppose to get more with a trade-in than to completely sell it to a dealer? How much can I fetch with this car?

Rep Power: 266 I dunno how much you can fetch but...
recently my buddy sold his car for $11,000 and it had high clicks. how long have you had the car? 90 clicks, thats a lot for me. at this rate, i'll be at 90,000 by 2007/2008! and i got my 2003 civic in the summer of 2003
if ya aint getting much, theres a simple solution... ya put the car on autotrader, sell it there, and use that money for the audi.

Rep Power: 0 if you want to get the proper amount for your car like if its in good shape and stuff dont trade it in...those ppl will give u as low as they can so they can make the mostmoney off it when they go sell it to someone else...if you want a good amount for your car your best bet is to sell it yourself through autotrader or something...really the only benefit of a trade in i believe is that they give u a better deal ont he car u r getting, so i guess u gotta weight the benefits and the drawbacks!

Rep Power: 294 ^^ true, but tax for me is 6.5% so you would only be looking at saving 715 dollars, you might be able to make an additional 3-4 grand buy selling it your self.
