Where to buy samurai sword set?
Hey guys, decorating my new apartment in a neo-oriental theme, lots of red and black, paper screens, so forth, so on. Anyhoo, I'm hot on a set of samurai swords with a decorative stand. Need at least a two-sword set (katana & wakizashi) but if the price is right, I wouldn't mind having the tanto in there as well. Anyone know any good places in the GTA to check out this kind of stuff? I don't need fancy collectors editions, and display-only non-functional stuff is just fine - would YOU trust ME with a battle-ready katana within arm's reach? No? Me neither. So yeah if there are any places you guys know of, please post up.
First place that came to mind is House Of Knives but for sure they'll be a lot of cash. Maybe flea market or China town. There was a guy selling a set of katanas on torontocivics like 4 of 5 months ago. Maybe try a search on the site, he may still have them.

I'm not really willing to go through ebay for something like this - especially if the item is a weapon; i'd hate to think what the government/authorities will try to pin on lil ol' chinky-eyed me if they see a 20-lb set of weaponry addressed to me...along with LED's and vintage midget ****.

There are 2 places in downtown that i know of. One is by the northwest corner of Yonge and College. And the other is by Yonge and Wellesley. I dont remember the names of the shops but the first on has a big yellow sign and is a Chinese antique store. The other one is a selfdefence, martialarts store. Hope this helps.
ohh i want a Hatori Hanzo too, if only i can find the guy that makes them.
Anyways, theres a shop thats sells all kinds of knives and swords down at the Dixie Mall Flea Market. You can try there, i once say a guy buy a huge *** Samurai sword, the blade had to have been at least 5 ft. not joke, and it had an ivory handle, it was crazy.

If you look on Ebay there's a ton of cheapo replicas of the Hatori Hanzo from Kill Bill. I wouldn't mind one actually....I may order...

It was created for "show use" but I paid for "quality Hand forged C Steel". But they were good enough to take it back with no complaint, and provided me with a free engravment for my new sword. I believe they are either selling my old one on ebay or on their website. Look under "Black Shirasaya".
Oh, when you call ask for Chris.

Lol what the old one? That garbage I bought at china town? Cause the one that was made at casting forge was returned so I can get what I paid for. They are selling it on ebay or their website. But yea, it was all for show, not even sharpened. But hey I think they're selling it for only 100$.
Btw, if you want something custom made from them prepare to dish out 400+

Thanks 7gnoob, but that's just a single plus I don't like the design. This is ALL for show (I wanna take Iaido lessons soon though) so all I care about is how it looks in a scabbard on a stand.

Kunai? The tanto is the smallest one. Next in size is the wakizashi, then the biggest is the katana, unless you go olskool with a nodachi.
I wish I had my digi so I could take pics. The one I ended up getting looks rather like the one the guy from torontocivics is selling. But i got it for much less than his asking price. Simulated hamon, some generic horimono (probably like "courage" or "honour" or some silly shiat), perfect length and weight. I wish I'd gotten something with a rayskin wrap on the handle, but meh, this one is the only one house of knives had with a full tang.
I used it to cut up some boxes, ha ha. This thing is razor sharp.

hmm.. i dunno what is called. i think my friend told that was what it was called when i told him i wanted the black knife's from naruto (anime series). hahaa.. i wanted like 3 of them wif like 5 shuriken's ~_~
My cousins used to collect kunais and tantos, and we would practice throwing them on a wood board in his basement. Its hard to throw these things and make em stick to the target, let alone be accurate with them. His wall is full of holes. Takes alot of practice to be able to use these things.
