Removing some sheilding
A few questions about sheilding and grills.
I'm removing my wheel well sheilding today one got cracked some how and the other is rubbing up aginst my body kit. Than the big peice in the front wasn't put back in b/c of the body kit. Am I exposing too much or is that ok?
Also my body kit leaves my rad and other things exposed b/c I have no meshing but I like the look of one part I might leave it, is that damaging to the rad?

yeah I guess it would be expensive for a $40 solution. There is only a small part I'll keep open it looks pretty cool. I removed all the tire sheilding and it looks like crap.

Re: Removing some sheilding
You're talking about the lower grill opening?
Just curious, does anyone know what COULD happen to the rad if you leave the opening un-meshed? I mean, the stock "cover" on the lower grill is pretty open anyway, not really helping to block out small debris or anything...prolly more for cosmetic purposes than anything...
Just wondering cuz I cut mine off after a botched foglight install and have been driving around like that for a while...

i think the lower grill (piece you cut out) is for structural support of the front fascia, it is not to block out debris. the rad itself has a messing that keeps out the little things...
you dont need the lower portion on an everyday basis, but if say you drive over something big and it is pushes up on the lower bumper it is no longer reinforced....
looks nice, but i wouldnt recommend others to do this

your wheels kick up things that could damage vital hoses and components. becareful until you can replace it....

Thanks for the info man...never thought of that possibility...
I'll be sure to be extra careful over big bumps and such until I get it fixed...
