Are we gonna go all out and do an all open category import club or are we sticking with 7th gens??

need your view....

My opinion... is that we stay ONLY as 7th gens... due to most imports will stick to who they can relate with like TAC (Toronto Accord Club), TPC (Toronto Prelude Club), Club RSX and such...

I say we keep this to 7th gens (this includes all 7th gen civics, EP3's and EL since these all have 7th gen qualities...)

also look at Toronto Civic Club... its so big its hard to grasp any concept...

you have to understand a club/team is hard to mantain and things only get harder with a bigger group of ppl to deal with and please...

and we're all here already with out own boards that im sure we can use these boards and forums... like stage 7....

We have already talked about this. In ottawa we have a RSX, CRX, WRX and an Accord. They are part of our club and always have been. So now your saying they can go to another club. I don't mean to pick fights guys but these people with none 7th gens are just as much of the club as everyone else. This was talked about right from the beginning and noe things are changing. I have read the posts about rules and other things and voiced that I did not agree. Then I read this and am just plain mad. So I'm out, don't want anything to do with this. I will just stick with my Ottawa boys where all imports are welcome and everyone is treated equel.

heres my 2sense. first off, a 7thgen club would be realy nice to have, but we would need a realy good comitment from everyone or else thers just no reason to do it. it would be realy cool to be all the same gen vics. if we start up a club that is strictly imports or strictly hondas whats the point. im sure there are lots of clubz already like that, so if you want to join one of them than that option is still there. i guess what i am saying is why bother making another car club thats just like the rest of them out there, make one thats a little more car specific. the only other car i would let in is the 1.7 b/c it is a 4dr vic. but then again on the other hand are we gonna have enough comitment and enough peeps to make a strictly 7thgen club. like in the smaller ares like peterborough, barrie, niagara, i just dont think there are enough 7thgens to make a club and i know i am definately not into a club that has no local chapter within like a 15min drive of where i live. so in that case i think it would be good to let in other imports, or maybe just other gen vics.

^^i agree with what ur sayin. It would be different to have only 7th gens. i also think it would be nice to have a 7thgen team, but with a few exceptions. I mean if someone we already know and chill out with wants to come out and be with us then i think that should be fine. If they are okay with a name and sticker based around 7th gen civics then thats fine too. I know people will say "well if we let this person in then this guy hasta be in too."
all im sayin is its ncie to have all 7th gens considering this site is dedicated to them, but lets not exclude some people who are already here.

vicLx, this is getting outta hand, let me explain the situation here.

First, Tofast4me is a girl, her BF has a 7thgen, she has an older accord. Gohanix (off this site) has a RSX. we have a close friend with a new WRX. also another accord. and another with an older CRX (which beated all our asses).
Anyways, since last summer, we have become a close group, we meet up. we gotto dinners, parties. we help everyone install everything. tracks days (solo). game nights, movies, everything. In a short period of time all of us have become a close group, and everything was perfect, we just thought it would be cool to stick a bunch of stickers on our cars or something and name ourselfs something, so people know who we are.

We couldnt really come up with a name, and we never toke it to seriously, untill i almost ordered some stickers. Pharoh came up with the can east idea.

so here we are, we just wanna have fun, make more friend with everyone in can east, and just be cool with a team name.

yes, i see your point, it is nice to have a 7thgen team, just like the preludes and the s2000 teams. But u have to understand, we (ottawa) initiated this. You can just expect us to leave the friends that make up the group we hang around. You want this team to be way more serious then it really is.

I like the 7thgen only team idea. But i am sticking with an Import team. i am with Tofast4me , so tell us what u think, and lets wait to see pharohs opinion on this.

I cant belive this, pharoh leaves for a week, and look at us.:-)

im trying to help out through experience i've been through... so you guys can make the mastake on your own by expanding ... but im not gonna gonna be a part of a failing team...(which I've tried to help!)

First of all i am a girl and don't see why that matters. Second Player I own a 7th gen along with my B/F and our second car that happens to be a older accord is not part of this club. Vic whats with the tissue remark? If you knew me that would be a remark that you should of kepped to yourself. So I bring forth an issue that BTW has already been talked about. If I was a guy would you of treated me like a crying baby. I to have been part of a car club and everything that is being said here is what went WRONG with that club. I have decided that I will not be apart of this club that I am happy with the Ottawa club. If they want to do this TO thing thats fine and there choice I am not stopping them. But I don not want to be part of a club that have people like you as members. So you can take yor tissue and shove it. Thats putting it nicely

Here is my opinion...take it for what it's worth..

An exclusive 7th gen club is most likely the best idea. Yes...it excludes all the other imports and will upset some people (and I see it already has). I'm just thinking of the work-load that will be put on the regional reps by unveiling an all-inclusive club...isn't it best to start small with great organization and grow the club from there..

The name doesn't have to have 7th gen in it...so we can open up the club to other imports down the road. But as a new club, a good reputation has to be built. I want to be part of a club where people take the time and money to make their cars look good...Sorry...but I don't want to be at a club meet parked beside a rusted out Hyundai Pony with all the bells and whistles from the Canadian Tire Catalogue. Call me stuck-up...

And...we need great representation from our reps...reality is that these people have to organize and keep everyone in the loop...we are nominating people who will do a great job. But keep in mind that these guys are probably involved with other clubs and have a life too. If I had the time.. I would get more involved, but I appreciate all the work that these guys do and to go all out for the meets.

I'm a baby cause I stand up for what I think is right? You were excluding people that are part of our team cause they don't own 7th gens. These people are my friends and have been a part of this group way before we wanted to join TO. If they are not welcome then I won't join. So you quote me for saying I'm out..you said the same thing last week about YOU not wanting to be apart of this. That is my decision and fully expect my team to make a decision on there own. I know they want this and I'll support that but just won't be involved in it.

^^agreed, by the looks of it though it seems like this whole club thing won't work cuz there are sooooo many different opinions and thoughts. What I think is that we should start small (Ottawa team, Toronto team, London Team etc.) and we should discuss it in our sub-forums and if that starts workin for us we can try to go further with it...what does everyone think?

My 1st, last and only post on this whole "team" subject.

What is the point?

The most important question you need to answer is WHY do you want a team? Is it just to have a cool sticker on your car? Is it to have a catchy name? Is it to hang out as a group?
If thats it, pretty lame. We already hang out as a group here in Ottawa (I'm sure you T.O guys do too), and I got really pretty stickers with my K&N filter.


The other option is you are serious about going to car shows, and stuff like that. That requires a pretty big commitment from everyone in the team and also a bunch of fairly nicely modded cars(i.e expensive). If this is the case then I probably agree on the just 7thgens, if only because its kinda neat to see a bunch of the same cars together. However I have no interest. I will be the first to admit my car isn't a show car, its a daily driver. I'm not going to commit every weekend I have to go to shows either here or in T.O.

I will continue to hang out with my fellow 7thgeners (and accorders, wrxers, crxers etc) but this team idea either needs to get some serious direction or just die.

alright, how did this get so outta hand?

first off, i dont wanna see people upset, and i actually didnt realise that the group coming out of ottawa were the imports that we were excluding. i thought we had 7th gen members ready to start a club and considering expanding.

it would be completely unreasonable to ask the ottawa group to break up, not that you would anyways.

i totally see why vic would want to keep it a smaller more exclusive group however. especially if we're looking accomplish the things that he wants.

i only want to point out that even if we start an exclusive 7thgen team it will still be a small group that takes everything that seriously.

the only problem with an import team is the gta, we will become enormous. i dont know what to do, how we can come up with something that will satisify what everyone wanted in the begining. but this fighting has to stop before we can come up with a solution.

please EVERYONE, try and express your opinions without attacking eachother, it doesnt help things. even if we come up with something that makes everyone happy, they wont want to be on a team with members they hate.

also, this is a forum, not real life, you guys would not fight if you talked face to face....so dont take everything so personally.

we will think up something, but it will be faster if we remain calm and really communicate with one another....
