change deck in 2004 si??? help please.
Ok, before anyone tells me to check the DIY section, I already did. The civic in the DIY section is different than mine. Mine looks like this one, but mine is not auto like the one in this link.

If someone can show me with pics where to start that would be great. I just need info on how to remove the trim on center console. I even check how to remove center console in the DIY and its different in my car as well.
If anyone can help, that would be great.

its almost the same due to the interior layout... just that certain parts come off in different order...
just try looking for all the screws and tabs vissible and remember where they go... then start popping things off piece by piece...
but the lay out in the DIY is a good guide....
good luck
as long as you can get to this bolt... the center CD player console just needs to be popped off

I got both those bolts off, but I can seem to do the final step. I can't seem to pull out the whole deck and a/c controls. Any tips on how to get it out. I know you have to push really really hard.
Thanks, Phu.

I have an 03 and my console is exactly like that. For the 04's... all you have to do is stick your fingers up underneath the clip around the shift boot and pull straight up... the rest should be the same as the link.
BTW... I have the exact same deck as well.

adapter
Dude where did you get the adapter with the little flip door over the bottom storage tray? When I changed over my deck I looked everywhere for one like that but came up dry.

KD-SX980 right? the SX990 looks almost similar, so I could be mistaken

Oh btw, I also borrowed (read: stole) your idea for the remote control storage. Thanks for that one
I like it...
Do you know of a spot on the steering wheel where I can put another piece of velcro in order to rig up some steering wheel audio controls? I tried a couple spots, but it seems the "vision" of the remote control receiver is quite narrow in this car. It didn't work when I put it near the top and side of my steering wheel, is there somewhere else that it will work?

don't think it'll work with this remote since it doesn't really have a wide range. I usually have to point the remote straight at the deck to make it work.
I actually scrapped that idea with the remote under cup lid. I just keep my remote in the little slot between shifter and center console box.
