are cam gears and pulleys meant for our civics?
i was looking into the AEM cam gears and the pulleys
someone said that it shouldnt be installed in our civics........ (i have a civic coupe 02 LX) because it's a single cam.......?
i could still install it.. if i wanted it more for looks.....
that person said it's moreso meant for K20 engines........... like type S? type R?
can anybody give me some input/info on the cam gears and pulleys?
thanks

cam gears are what they say they are... its the gear that rotates/spins the cams that rock the intake and exhaust valves to produce the cumbustion....
now the AEM (aftermarket) cam gear allows you to retard or advance the cam <- (not cams..we only have one) doing this either delays or advances the cumbustion creating different power bans...
for better explanation....Click here
all other engine **** you need to learn has links from the link above
AEM link <-- even picture of one on a D17 (civic 01- up engine code)
and the answer to your question is that its not bad for a single cam...just dont be altering the cam profile to much unless you have serious mods (turbo, NoS and ect.)
hope this helps

I retarded 2 degrees on my cam gear and 1/4 average 16.1sec...I tried to advance 3 degrees and 1/4 mile average about 16.4sec...
but basically, if you don't have performance cam(I don't), the cam gear is kind of useless...
retarding cam gives more hp
advancing cam give more torque

I guess there is 2whp with unorthdox...but you should check DHRacing pulley...only 6 ounces...
DH is about $140 now...shipped...go to the groupbuy section and see...
I have no idea about the belts...it didn't come with it...and the other guy helped me to order it...
